Code of Ethics
Ethical Code of the journal “Il sogno della Farfalla”
The journal Il sogno della Farfalla adheres to the Ethical Code of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE – https://publicationethics.org). Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to be familiar with and abide by the following principles, in accordance with the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal commit to:
- Originality of content: Ensure that the submitted work is original and has not been previously published, in whole or in part.
- Transparency of contributions: Clearly disclose the individual contributions of each author to the work.
- Plagiarism and misuse of data: Guarantee that the manuscript does not contain plagiarized content or falsified/manipulated data.
- Acknowledgment of sources: Properly cite all relevant sources and works used.
- Conflicts of interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the work or its interpretation.
- Corrections and retractions: Cooperate with the editorial team to correct errors or retract the work if necessary.
Responsibilities of Editors
The editors of the journal commit to:
- Impartiality: Evaluate manuscripts solely based on their scientific content, without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or institutional affiliation of the authors.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding submitted manuscripts, sharing it only with authors, reviewers, and, if necessary, other members of the editorial board.
- Management of conflicts of interest: Avoid conflicts of interest in the handling of manuscripts.
- Transparent editorial decisions: Base decisions to accept or reject a manuscript on clear and stated criteria.
- Ethical oversight: Follow COPE guidelines for handling unethical behavior or misconduct.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers participating in the peer-review process commit to:
- Objectivity: Provide objective, constructive, and detailed evaluations of manuscripts, avoiding personal or offensive remarks.
- Confidentiality: Not disclose or use information acquired during the review process.
- Conflicts of interest: Decline to review a manuscript if potential conflicts of interest exist.
- Timeliness: Respect the agreed-upon deadlines for completing the review.
Publication Ethics
The journal is committed to ensuring the highest standards of integrity throughout the publication process, adhering to the following principles:
- Handling of misconduct reports: Any report of unethical behavior will be taken seriously and addressed in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Retractions and corrections: In cases of significant errors, the journal will publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as appropriate.
- Access to information: Promote the dissemination of knowledge and encourage open access whenever possible.
Conflicts of Interest and Funding
All parties involved in the editorial process – authors, editors, and reviewers – must disclose any conflicts of interest. Authors are also required to clearly indicate the sources of funding for their work, where applicable.
