Culture and the Left

Abstract

In this article, the authors introduce a debate organized by the magazine ‘Left’ which took place in Viareggio on 29th July during ‘Liberafesta’, the national festival of the newspaper ‘Liberazione’. The authors analyze the cultural roots of concepts such as penalty and justice, highlighting the need to clearly distinguish between criminality and mental illness.
