Twelve years of age
Abstract
The twelfth year of life is crucial for human beings as it is the time of puberty, when substantial physical and mental changes occur. Many adolescents show difficulties in accepting this change, which are physiological difficulties. However, other adolescents feel completely inadequate in facing this sudden change in their existence. Teachers, who relate to young people going through this delicate moment every day, become their new reference points. Listening and being close are the indispensable tools of teachers, even when dealing with “difficult” students. These tools can allow teachers to pay attention to first warning bells or gather unexpressed requests for help.
