L'ospite inatteso

Abstract

Taking its cue from some ideas contained in literature and cinema, this brief article introduces the debate on transcultural psychiatry that is further developed in this issue of the magazine. The author suggests that violence against foreigners is one aspect of the pathology of rational thought processes characterizing our relationship with those different to ourselves and likens it, first of all, to the violent reactions provoked by the emergence of a female image.
